A 17th century silver Tobacco Box, circa 1680, struck only with a maker's mark 'WB' incuse inside the lid and body. \nThis mark, which is struck on the 1682 plate of marks at the London Goldsmiths' Company, has been identified as either William Bertram or William Brafield [[Philip Priestley, 'Early Watch Case Makers of England'] \nThe lid engraved with the arms of Walker of Lancaster.
