A 17th century Augsburg silver Stirrup Cup

A 17th century silver German Stirrup Cup, Augsburg circa 1685, Matthäus Baur II, finely engraved with three vignettes of landscape scenes within scrolling foliage and with a classical male and female head at each end. Struck also with a 19th century control mark. \n \nA smaller example by the same maker was offered for salei in Sotheby's Paris [PF2019] 18th December 2002, lot 165. \nFor slightly larger examples see Christie's Geneva 6th November 1969, lot 105, an unidentified maker; and Sotheby's New York 19th April 2001, lot 127, by Johann Martin Schmidt. \nFor a similar Stirrup Cup but in a leather case with egg cup, marrow scoop, knife, fork and spoons and marrow scoop, the cup by Hieronymus Schuch II [probably], Augsburg circa 1700, see Sotheby's Geneva 13/11/1989, lot 123. Good with fine crisp engraving but the sides slightly trimmed in one place at the very edge.
