A George I 'French plate' rectangular Tea Tray, circa 1725, struck with pseudo hallmarks by 'ID', identified as Josiah Daniel, London. \n \nFor an article on Josiah Daniel, a specialist 'French plate' worker and maker of toy silver, see the research pages of this website. Good overall with some surface marking. Some distortion to the bracket feet, one with an apparent old repair. A crack in one corner of the tray border. The underside of the salver heavily patinated with evidence of the original silvering. The upper surface with the silvering worn away. The marks legible.
