A George II armorial Salver.

A George II silver Salver, with shell and scroll border, supported on three scrolled feet, the field with a chased border of flowers and scrolls, London 1752, by Dorothy Mills. Engraved in the centre with a contemporary coat-of-arms - gules, a cross or between four swans - possibly for Broderip of Somerset. Good. Two areas have been over-polished on the reverse behind the shell border. There is an original solder line on each side where the maker has added a small piece. At some date that area has been over-polished. The upper surface and most of the under surface is of good colour. There are no repairs. The armorial and the chased decoration entirely original.
