A George III silver memento mori oval hinged Box, London 1782, by James Phipps. The exterior of the box engraved-: 'Enclosed are some of the remains of a most kind, virtuous & affectionately loving Wife, Mrs. Sarah Kingsford in whom centered every female & desirable excellency.' And on the base: 'Sarah Kingsford, daughter of John & Elizabeth Wiche, born Aug. 12th 1758, married to Sampson Kingsford Jan. 4th 1780, died much lamented by all that knew her, Ap. 29th 1782, & left one daughter, Sarah Maria, born April 16. 1782.' \nFor John Wiche, 1718-1794, Baptist Minister: see the Dictionary of National Biography.
