Sir Robert Peel [1788-1850; Prime Minister1835-6 and 1841-6]. \nA silver Prize Medal from Whalley Agriculture Society, instituted in 1810, awarded to 'Robert Peel, Esq., for laying down 14 Acres of Land with Pasturing Seeds, 1816.' In the original red morocco outer case. \n \nPeel's family were farmers and landowners in Lancashire. Robert Peel inherited his father's lands and retained an interest in agricultural development after entering the House of Commons in 1809. Condition: \n
Good with toning and minor marking to the faces of the medal. Some minor wear to the leather covered outer case.
