A good pair of George II silver Seal Boxes for Oxford University.

A pair of George II silver oval Seal Boxes, struck with a maker's mark only, by Robert Collier, of London, circa 1750. The lids of the boxes are engraved with the arms of the University of Oxford, and one box containing the original wax seal impression with a silver thread embroidered blue ribbon. \nThese boxes are illustrated in both editions of 'Silver Boxes' by Eric Delieb. Delieb, however, mis-attributed the maker in both editions. Good. One box retains a [cracked] wax seal impression. One box shows a shadow of the maker's mark on the plain underside.
