A Victorian cushion-shaped Snuffbox, Birmingham 1858, by George Unite. The body of the box is decorated with strapwork engraving and the lid with a presentation inscription 'Presented by D. Nicholson of North Terrace, Wandsworth to Wm. Fell Esqr. for the unwearied attention during his beloved parent's illness 1859.' \nThe Morning Post of the 31st January 1860 reported the death of Mr. D. Nicholson of 4, North Terrace, Wandsworth in his sixty third year. David Nicholson senior and junior were well-known builders but Nicholson junior was declared bankrupt in 1869, ten years after his father's death. The miniaturist, Hugh Nicholson, was one of eleven children of David Nicholson, junior and his wife, Elizabeth Waterer. Condition: \n
