A pair of George II Silver Spurs, London 1731, the buckles part silver, part steel and part close-plated. One spur struck with date letter, lion passant and leopard's head with buckles marked by 'CN' in script, the other spur marked by 'W.O' only, with buckles marked by 'CN' in script. \nNeither 'W.O', as struck on this spur, nor 'CN' in script appears in Grimwade. It is possible that the 'W.O' mark is a variant mark used by William Owen. Few pairs of British silver spurs survive prior to 1750. \n \nThis pair has a linen bag. Condition: \n
