A pair of bead edged George III Candle Snuffers intended to fit a Chamberstick, London 1782, by 'IB' , identified as John Booth I. Engraved with a contemporary crest. \n \nIB and WB (Wilkes Booth) were specialist makers of sprung tongs and snuffers. Wilkes Booth, who is recorded as supplying silver to Parker and Wakelin,  entered into partnership with John Booth II. John Booth I was the father of Wilkes Booth. The family is best known for the descendant who assasinated President Lincoln. Condition: \n
