A silver Patch or Counter box struck with the profile of Queen Anne, maker's mark only, E.C. [?], circa 1710. \n \nA large number of these small silver boxes, with pull-off die-struck lids, were produced, sometimes with matching light gauge counters inside. They are invariably struck with a maker's mark only [although undoubtedly made in London] and the commonest maker is 'T.K.' This maker, unidentified, is more uncommon. This sort of simple box would have been sold at fairs and markets or by itinerant traders. Condition: \n
Good overall but some detail of Anne's face rubbed and the maker's mark poorly struck.
\nDimensions: \nDiameter - 2.40cm.; Height - 1cm.; Weight - 6.50 gms.
