Napoleonic Wars. \nA Spanish thread edge silver Tablefork, circa 1800, marked by Zunzarren of San Sebastian, Spain, inscribed on the front 'Plunder of St. Sebastian 31st August 1813.' Engraved on the reverse with a crest above the initials 'AA'. \nA crescent crest was used by the families 'Achyem, Adam, Alderton, Anderson, and Arnot [with spelling variations]. Condition: \n

The fork had clearly been well-used before being captured as 'war booty'. The engraving is, however, clear, as is the mark.
