Princess Louise Caroline Alberta, 4th daughter of Queen Victoria, 1848-1939, married the Duke of Argyll in March 1871. \nA silver Cream Jug, London 1858, Robert Garrard, with gilt interior, the exterior engraved on one side with a script 'L' below the coronet of a Royal princess, for Princess Louise, and the date 'Feby 7th 1861.' Engraved on the other side with script initials, probably 'M.A.T'. \n \nIt remains uncertain whether this Jug was a gift to, or a gift from, the young Princess. \n \nAn image of Princess Louise is added here by Albert Gräfle, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.
