An early 19th century fine Masonic Jewel.

A fine unmarked silver Masonic Jewel, circa 1806, engraved on both sides with Masonic Symbols. \nOn one side curtains, centred by a compass and set square, are held open, revealing a landscape with a Dove of Peace fyling above a coffin with a fouled anchor engraved 'Hope' on the left and a sheep on the right. In the foreground is a Bible open at St. John with a snake crossing from right to left behind. On the curtains are the initials 'R.C.' and 'No. 800'. \nOn the reverse, the all-seeing eye of God is above a Roman arch, with Moon to the left and Sun to the right. At the base of the chequered floor is the date '1806' and, within the arch, flies a cherub carrying the banner 'Love without End.' Condition: \n
