A German silver-gilt Spoon, Passau, circa 1600, the shield-shaped terminal engraved with the arms of Passau and the stem engraved on two of its sides: 'Hanns Maier Tedenhamer'; 'Stevrher von der Gemain'. \nThe maker, 'CR' with a mullet, is recorded by Rosenberg as struck on a silver-gilt Spoon dated 1575 in the national museum of Munich. \n \nProvenance: Christie's London 23rd January 1924, part of Lot 124. \n \nCharles Waterton [1782-1865] or his son, Edmund Waterton [1830-1887].
