A Royal Scent Bottle cum Vinaigrette. \nA folding double-ended Scent Bottle, London 1868 by Jane Brownett, red glass and frosted silver-gilt mounts, one end with hinged top, the other with screw top. The centre with apertures for pins and, when opened, a vinaigrette with cover engraved on the inside ' 'Brownett's Registered May 1868.' Engraved also on one cap with the Royal crown and the other with the Queen's script cipher 'VR.' \nProvenance: given to Dr. Charles Warr by the Duke of Kent. Dr. Warr became Chaplain to George V in 1936 and thereafter chaplain to Kings Edward VIII and George VI and to Queen Elizabeth II. Good overall with minor scratches, a small dent in one end near the 'VR' script cypher and a slightly open seam on that cap.
