Two Victorian silver Bowls and two sifting Spoons in the 'naturalistic' style of Hukin and Heath. The larger bowl and sifting spoon are hallmarked for London 1882 and bear the partnership mark of Heath and Middleton. The small bowl [which has engraved script intitials] and accompanying spoon are hallmarked for London 1885 by Heath and Middleton. Although the firm of Hukin and Heath, which Jonathan Wilson Hukin had founded in Birmingham in 1855, continued through this period, Hukin retired in 1881 [dying ten years later] and was succeeded in the partnership by his son-in-law John Harsthorne Middleton. This style, with innumerable variations, first appeared in 1881 and continued to be popular into the twentieth century. Condition: \n
